Zhiwei Technology's core founding team builds on nearly 30 years of accumulated technology from the State Key Laboratory of Automotive Simulation and Control at Jilin University. Founder Dr. Wang Yang worked and studied at Jilin University and Beijing Institute of Technology for more than ten years. During his master's, doctoral, and postdoctoral research, he worked on semi-active and active suspension product development. As a core member and chief scientist at startup companies, he subsequently led product and control software development for active suspension, Active Stabilizer Bars, and electronically controlled suspension.
From 2012 to 2015, Dr. Wang participated as a key technical contributor in the 973 Program project "Research on Key Technologies for Distributed-Drive Electric Vehicles," where he accumulated key technologies for electronically controlled semi-active suspension development.
In 2017, Dr. Wang participated as a key technical contributor in the national key science and technology special projects "Industrialization of Chassis and Complete Vehicles for Distributed Pure Electric Passenger Cars" and "Development of High-Performance, Low-Energy-Consumption Electric Passenger Car Chassis and Complete Vehicles," as well as the National Natural Science Foundation of China project "Vehicle-Level Coupling Mechanisms and Multi-Objective Coordinated Control of Energy-Regenerative Suspension." Through this work, he accumulated key technologies in complete-vehicle integration and system matching for electronically controlled suspension and in electronically controlled energy-regenerative suspension development.
In 2019, as technical lead, Dr. Wang was responsible for developing electronically controlled suspension system control software and the proprietary "Electronically Controlled Damper HIL Test Bench." Through this work, he accumulated key technologies in production control software and test equipment for electronically controlled suspension.
In 2021, as technical lead, Dr. Wang worked with the FAW R&D General Institute to develop an Active Stabilizer Bar product based on the Hongqi E-HS9, accumulating complete-vehicle control technologies for active suspension.
In 2022, as project leader, Dr. Wang received support from the 72nd Batch General Program of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation for the project "Research on Multi-Factor Coupled Dynamic Characterization and Active Preview Control Methods for an Electric Active Stabilizer Bar." Through this work, he accumulated core technologies in electric Active Stabilizer Bar development and system control for Full Active Suspension Systems.
In 2023, as project leader, Dr. Wang worked with ZEEKR to develop a Full Active Suspension prototype based on the ZEEKR 001, accumulating core technologies in Full Active Suspension System development and system control. During the same period, the founding team developed an Electronic Active Stabilizer Bar product for the ZEEKR 9X.
In 2024, as project leader, Dr. Wang developed a high-voltage Electric Hydraulic Pump product for Full Active Suspension through a self-initiated project. This work established core technologies for Electric Hydraulic Pump product development.
The following figure presents the timeline of the team's accumulated technologies for intelligent Full Active Suspension Systems.
